MGS has had an ongoing cemetery transcript project for many years. It started as a joint project with the Manitoba Historical Society who wanted to document every cemetery’s location in the province, and MGS who took on task of transcribing the grave markers in every cemetery. All this data resides in the Manitoba Name Index (MANI) and is available to MGS members as a member benefit. Over time, additions to the database have been made from obituaries and periodic re-audits of a cemetery.
