New Website, New Records

It is heartening to see new resources surfacing, and updates coming to old resources.

The Provincial Archives of Saskatchewan

The Provincial Archives of Saskatchewan has updated their website.  Their clearly marked Family History Research link from the first page takes you to a page which helps the beginner genealogist, but also gives quick links to:  Government Records, Land Records, Court Records, Education and School Records, and Pioneer Questionnaires.  They also link to outside sources of genealogical information like:  Adoption and Foster Care, Births, Marriage, Adoption and Death Records, Census Records, Church Records, Immigration, Naturalization and Citizenship Records, Military Records, Municipal Records, and Post Adoption Services in Saskatchewan.  If you have ancestors who lived in Saskatchewan, check it out.

The Ancestor Hunt

The Ancestor Hunt website has posted in the last week a series of articles giving free Obituaries and Obituary Index Links for almost every state.  If you have ancestors that came to Manitoba via the USA, you might find these resources helpful.  You can scroll through these recent posts to find the state you are interested in—starting in April and going into May, 2023.  There are separate articles for each state with multiple links within each state for different resources.  Enjoy the “hunt”.
