Manitoba Day 2023

Manitoba Day 2023 – Manitoba Day is officially on May 12th.  The Manitoba Act received royal assent on May 12, 1870, and was officially incorporated into Confederation on July 15 that year. On May 12, 1966, Manitoba’s official flag was dedicated and raised for the first time.  In 1970, Manitoba Day started as a community driven event to celebrate it’s 100th birthday.  In 1986, the Government of Manitoba designated May 12th as Manitoba Day.  May 12, 2020, marked the 150th anniversary of Manitoba’s founding, and many events were suspended or cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.  Many organizations held their Manitoba 150 events at a later date.

Although May 12th is the official Manitoba Day, many organizations hold Manitoba Day events throughout the month of May.
