2024 Red River Heritage Fair Award Winner

Every year, the Manitoba Genealogical Society, Inc. sponsors an award–the Family History Award– at the Red River Heritage Fair (RRHF).  The Red River Heritage Fair program encourages students to explore the history of our country in a dynamic and hands-on environment.  Students from grades 4 t0 9 use the medium of their choice to recount the stories of the people, events and key moments from Canadian history.

This year’s RRHF took place on May 2, 2024, and MGS Volunteer Janice Butcher attended to review the student projects and choose a winner for the MGS sponsored Family History Award.

Janice said, “The Grade 4 student, Ariana Vandette, had information on 5 generations of her family, on both mother’s and father’s sides. It was an excellent project.  I was very pleased to award her the MGS prize.”
