Gerhard [Gerhardt] Otto “Jerry” ZADO (1913-1956)
Jerry was born in Morden on 25 April 1913, he was the son of Hermann Zado (c1868-1947) and Katharina Eleanora Busch (c1877-1956), he grew up on the family homestead at SW-19-01-01-W1 near Brown.
On 29 July 1939, he married Elsie Rangno (1912-1979) in Winnipeg and they had one daughter: Roberta Louise Zado.
Educator
Following teacher training, he worked in rural Manitoba classrooms for around 22 years, including in Steinbach for five years as a teacher and later as a Principal at the Steinbach Collegiate. He then moved to Winnipeg and taught at the Norwood Collegiate (c145-1950) and then the Winnipeg Technical Vocational High School for the three years before his death.
He died at the Misericordia Hospital on 24 March 1956 and was buried in the Brookside Cemetery.
