The History of the Fardo-Fardoe Family
by Ronaele Fardoe, MGS #5844
The family story is that in 1506, a Fardo merchant came from Portugal or Spain and was shipwrecked off Wales, hopped a horse cart and ended up in Shropshire, England. Our earliest known Fardo ancestor was Roberti (Robert) Fardo (born 1580) and his wife Janae. The early Fardo’s were shoemakers and bootmakers.
