MGS is calling on MGS members to nominate a MGS Volunteer for one of our annual volunteer awards.
We give out three awards at our Annual General Meeting.
THE ERIC JONASSON AWARD OF MERIT CRITERIA
The Eric Jonasson Award of Merit is only given to one person each year to an MGS member that has made an outstanding and sustained contribution over the years to the objectives of our Society.
THE FLORENCE COX AWARD CRITERIA
The Flo Cox Award is presented to members of MGS who have rendered exemplary service to the Society over a long period of time or who have done exceptional service over a shorter period of time. Several awards can be made
each year.
THE JOAN WHISTON VOLUNTEER AWARD CRITERIA
This award is given for outstanding volunteer service over time, with preference to members not serving on the MGS Executive or Council. Those eligible can be from local branches, those working in the MGS Resource Centre, volunteers involved in indexing or transcribing cemetery records in or outside the library, etc. The recipient cannot have previously won the Flo Cox Award.
