Marion Blair Steele N.S. 1945
Lieutenant Marion Katherine Blair (Service No. 878154) was born in Oakville, Manitoba. She trained as a nurse at McKellar General Hospital in Thunder Bay Ontario graduating in 1943. She joined the Canadian Army and served with the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps on March 2, 1944 and completed her basic training at Camp Shilo. She arrived in England on July 10, 1944 and was initially posted to 22 Canadian General Hospital.
She was promoted to the rank of Lieut. Nursing Sister on September 2, 1944. Marion was sent to Perugia, Italy on November 17, 1944 where she was assigned to the 14th Canadian General Hospital.
She returned to England on April 18, 1945 where she was assigned to the Roman Way Convalescent Hospital and practiced there until August 30, 1945 at which time she returned to Canada. She was discharged from service on Jan 7, 1946.
