Many MGS members and non-members may be interested to know that Services are still available even though the MGS Library/Resource Centre is closed. Here is a list of the Services that continue to be provided by MGS:
Membership Purchases and Renewals
You may use MANI to pay for memberships or you can mail in your membership form and fees to the MGS office. A volunteer will be processing them “in isolation”. MGS is offering a 1-month grace period to ensure access to MANI is not disrupted due to late processing of a renewal. Consult the website for information https://mbgenealogy.com/membership/.
Research Services
Although the Library is closed for volunteer research help at the MGS Library, MGS Paid Research Services are continuing. You can order either the MGS Research Package ($60 for MGS members and $75 for non-members) or the Single Source Search (fee of $10.00 per source). MANI (MAnitoba Names Index)
Our Member’s only online database MANI has over one million indexed records, some linking to additional information and digital copies of local history books. MGS members can activate their MANI account and search these record indexes. A new and growing feature in MANI is “Source Search” where you can find what sources exist on several topics: Local Histories, Churches, Newspapers, Funeral Homes and Cemeteries. MANI Online Store – Cemetery Transcriptions
You can purchase digital copies of Cemetery Transcriptions and MGS publications through the E-store. Digital pdf copies will be emailed to ensure that you receive them quickly at no charge.
