Vitez Imre NAPHEGYI (1912-2006)

Vitez Imre was born at Kolozsvar, Hungary on 17 February 1912. He was the only child of Imre and Ilona Naphegyi. He left Hungary in 1944 during the Second World War. He lived in a refugee camp in Germany for seven years.

In 1950, he married Ilona Gulyas (1926-1998) and they had five children: Bence, Orsolya (wife of ? Szilágyi), Aniko Katalin Ilona (1952-2020, wife of James Pielou), Imre and Eva (wife of Ken Rawluk). The family immigrated to Canada in December 1951.

Artist, Sculptor, Writer

Vitez Imre was an artist, sculptor, writer/author and jack of all trades. He had a passion for writing stories on any piece of paper within reach. His writing was rewarded by an honorary knighthool (Sir/Vitez). His sculptures and paintings are located in numerous countries. His artistry led to a career at Eatons in the display department until his retirement when he was 68 years.

He was a loving man with a ready smile for everyone.

Vitez Imre died on 11 January 2006 and was buried in the Eriksdale Cemetery.
