Cemetery Transcribers

The time to start transcribing cemeteries is fast approaching.  If you are interested in learning more about transcribing cemeteries or would like to join our team of Transcribers please email me at Cemetery@mbgenealogy.com.

Cemetery Audit

The audit is slowly moving forward. Below is the progress to date.

Number of Cemeteries: 1,464
Number of Cemetery Folders: 1,369
Number of Active Cemeteries: 52
Number of Inactive Cemeteries:  155
Number of Burials: 951,090
Cemetery Folders Reviewed: 225 (16.44%)
New/Updated Transcript Documents: 219 (16.00%)
Cemetery Folders Synced: 142 (10.37%)

We have a new volunteer that is working on the list of cemeteries and cross-referencing the details MGS has with information found on other websites to: (1) ensure the accuracy of the cemetery name, (2) ensure the accuracy of the cemetery location, and (3) to find duplicate cemetery files. Volunteers will use this list of cemeteries to search for the owner/guardian of the cemeteries and the owner/guardian of the burial records, along with their contact information.

Currently we have three volunteers working on this project. The cemetery audit can be done from the comfort of your home or at MGS and new volunteers are welcomed. Training will be provided. If you are interested in learning more about auditing cemeteries or would like to join our team of Auditors please email me at Cemetery@mbgenealogy.com.

      Hi Roger,

Ste. Elisabeth Roman Catholic (Village) Cemetery is listed in MANI.  We have the cemetery transcription in our files and available in our Resource Centre.  You can also do a cemetery search under the Municipality of Montcalm.  You can purchase the cemetery transcript for $3.50.  Cemetery code 0401.  All names from cemetery transcripts are in our MANI database.  If you are having difficulty, please email cemetery@mbgenealogy.com.

      Thank you,
      Angela
