New Covid Rules for MGS

At the MGS Council meeting on Saturday, September 10, 2022, we discussed updating our covid-19 rules.   Most MGS volunteers are seniors and in the pandemic vulnerable population category.  As a result, it was felt that the following rules should apply:

  • Social Distancing should be maintained as much as possible
  • Where Social Distancing cannot be maintained, then masks will be worn
  • Good Hygiene – washing hands is considered best practice

When individuals come to work on their family history and are at a computer station, they do not need to mask and can work alone.  Tidying up after yourself when you leave is considered good manners.  Disinfectant wipes are available at the front desk.

When individuals have a MGS volunteer sitting next to them explaining something on the computer or sharing a view of a notebook, etc., this type of close contact requires that both parties be masked.

PROVINCIAL RESPONSE LEVEL: Limited Risk
