Celebrating Manitoba Day and Manitoba Women

May 11 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

We are celebrating Manitoba Day and Mother’s Day together on Sat, May 11th at the Manitoba Genealogical Society, in The Brick strip mall in St. James. Bring the family. We have a variety of displays highlighting the contribution of mothers over the years, a raffle, but most importantly, we can help you connect to your family history. We have activities for children.

Restore faded photos using our scanner and software, or look up an obituary or juicy family story of a family member using our subscription to NewspaperArchives International, or let our volunteers show you how to look up your family on Ancestry Library Edition. Old Henderson Directories will give you information on where your ancestors once lived in Manitoba. We have just added over 100,000 Manitoba names to our Manitoba Name Index database with the indexing of the 1923 Cummin’s Map which lists where your rural ancestors lived in 1923 (section-township-range). We have over 140 local Manitoba community history books in our library and many hundreds of donated genealogies.

Restaurants nearby. Free parking. Multiple bus routes. Everyone welcome, including children. Come celebrate Manitoba Day.
