Manitoba Pandemic Status at Code Red

We Are Operating As Usual (Almost)

Due to the Provincial Response Level being at critical, the Province of Manitoba continues to restrict non-essential services including libraries until further notice.  The MGS Resource Centre is presently closed to the public.

Saying that, we are open for business as usual (almost).  Volunteers are working remotely to process memberships and orders from our online store.  Monthly meetings and presentations are being held on Zoom.  Members have full access to MANI and our KOHA catalogue online.  Our Research team is still doing research.  Our volunteers are continuing to increase our MANI database with new data being uploaded regularly.  We aren’t in the office to answer the phone, but our emails are being checked regularly and you can contact us that way at contact@mbgenealogy.com.

It is only our Resource Centre that is closed.  If there is something that you need from the library resources, remember that our members can borrow books from the library.  Also, our researchers can access the information you need.  These services are business as usual.  We are hopeful we will be able to open soon.

Stay safe everyone, we will get through this together.

Local and Internationally Recognized Presenters
The webinar series runs every Wednesday from Jan 27 to Mar 31, 2021 from 7 pm – 9 pm.  In addition there are two Super Saturdays – Sat, Feb 20, and Mar 20, 2021 from 9 am – 4 pm.  Attend one session, or attend all!  Check out the details.

Scope

MGS has some unique information on people who have lived in Manitoba (cemetery indexes, obituaries, BMDs – births, marriages, deaths, family history and local history books, etc.) but we also can assist researchers with ancestors and descendants from other Canadian provinces and other countries.

MGS Resource Highlights
