Description:

This presentation will cover the historical background of society in the counties of Borshchiv, Chortkiv, Husiatyn, Terebovlia, and Zalishchyky which were the origins of a good majority of the first wave of Ukrainian immigration to Manitoba between 1896 and 1914. The main themes will be educational, agricultural, and health practices as well as the administration, transportation, and communications systems of the period in this region.

This is a hybrid event; the general public are welcome to attend the in-person meeting.

The in-person meeting is open to the public and will be held at Sherwood Park Lutheran Church at 7 Tudor Crescent. There is a small parking lot on the north side of the church and plenty of street parking (see map below)

Please enter by the side door on the north side of the church and proceed downstairs. The door will be locked at 7:15 p.m. so please do not be late.

In-person attendees are welcome to remain after the meeting for coffee and socializing. There will be a silver collection at the door to help offset refreshment costs.
